History: Lloyd's history
Personality: If you’re looking for a hero who’s got courage, determination, a penchant for doing what’s right – even when it seems outright impossible – and little to no book smarts, Lloyd is your guy. This head strong, dual wielding seventeen year old never backs down from any challenge, not even when he’s pitted against the world. Or in this case, against two worlds.
What Lloyd has that many others in his world don’t, is the ability to see a future where things are not helplessly bleak; one where no one gets the short end of the stick because chances are there’s a happy ending for everyone, and he won’t give up until he finds it. As heroic as that sounds, it can also be a little reckless, and Lloyd has certainly had his share of ill-advised endeavours throughout the story.
Having grown up in a small village, Lloyd has a fairly skewed understanding of himself and the world around him up until he’s thrust out into the wild – exiled from his home town and given a role in helping to regenerate the world. Even then he doesn’t know much aside from the fact that two-times the weapon equates to two-times the power, and he really does take that quite literally. For a while he’s nothing more than a short tempered teenager who doesn’t fully understand the consequences that his actions can have, only that he wants to “help”. His journey with the Chosen becomes an eye opening experience, coming face to face with everything from torture, suffering, discrimination, and most importantly, sacrifice. Colette’s own willingness to give up her life becomes a trigger for Lloyd. Despite being told her role is something that’s been set in stone, he refuses to acknowledge it, vowing to help shoulder her burden and find another solution, one where she can live and still save the world. This idealism is something that sticks to him from beginning to end, and while he makes plenty of mistakes along the way, he learns to admit to them, trying his best to make amends for any harm he’s caused.
Hand-in-hand with his “never back down” attitude, Lloyd is also a very outspoken person, so much so that he often riles up hostility amongst those he speaks out against. He’s not at all a “think before you speak” kind of guy, if he thinks you’re wrong, he’ll tell you. If he thinks you’re being stupid, he’ll tell you. If he thinks you’re a hag… he’ll unfortunately let that be known in the form of a snarky comeback. With that being said, it’s not like Lloyd is purposely looking to make enemies of every stupid, wrong hag out there, it’s more along the lines of not knowing when to keep his mouth shut and how to appropriately voice his opinions. Aside from that minor drawback, Lloyd is a strong believer in the goodness of others, and if he sees someone being mistreated, he won’t stand for it. He is firmly against racism and any other kind of dehumanizing act, always hoping to change the world so that no one is sacrificed or needs to die unnecessarily.
In terms of his friends and family, Lloyd always places the wellbeing of the people he cares about first and foremost, refusing to abandon them even in the most dire of situations. While this tenacity remains consistent throughout the game, he has his fair share of lessons learned, realizing that rushing in head first isn’t always the best strategy. His growth as a character is measured by his ability to be level-headed, no matter how critical the situation may be.
While his strengths shine in battle, Lloyd falls short in the intelligence department. Learning isn’t exactly a priority for the teen, and this becomes evident in his often misused choice of words, and overall inability to understand anything that is even remotely complex. He’d much rather have a hands on experience than sit in class and read about it in theory. As such, he’s almost always pitted as the butt of the joke when it comes to knowledge. Regardless, Lloyd makes up for this in logic (and a decent sense of humor), giving him a fair chance even against the most intelligent of foes.
Generally speaking, Lloyd is a pretty easy going individual. He has a tendency to poke fun at others, but this is usually in good nature, and if he offends someone, it's typically due to ignorance rather than actual ill intent (something he'll apologize and correct himself on in the future). From his canon point, Lloyd is still searching for answers, many of which to help save both Colette and the world. While he still has a lot to learn, having faced and conquered adversity at every turn with the help of his friends continues to shape his character into the loyal and righteous person he is.
Debt: Lloyd is under the impression that the witch has helped Colette gain her humanity back (everything from the ability to taste food, sleep, speak, her memory, and her heart), so his debt is piled really high.
Suitability: Lloyd is strongly against the idea of being stripped of his freedom, but he's also a man of his words. If the witch promised to save Colette, he knows that he owes her, and he's willing to work it off. In terms of being thrown into this new environment, Lloyd does well adapting to new places and welcomes challenges, so that shouldn't be an issue. Also since the conditions are generally fair and humane, he can't really complain about being trapped or mistreated. If however, he has to endure situations where he and the people around him are wrongly put in harms way (e.g. spirit decides to kill employees for fun) he's probably not going to just let that slide, and chances are he'll want to fight back.

Inventory: Aside from his outfit, Lloyd is also bringing along two broad swords, his Exsphere (a power enhancer), and maybe some apple gels he left in his pocket.
Abilities, Strengths, and Weaknesses: Lloyd is a very skilled swordsman who fights with twin blades. He has an Exsphere attached to his left hand (an item that greatly increases fighting and survival potential), which gives him superhuman powers. He has a list of artes - certain combat moves that require mana - but they're far too tedious to get into (demon fang etc etc). He's also a fairly speedy guy and is pretty good at craftsmanship, too. Physical strengths aside, Lloyd's got a knack for befriending others, and he's all about doing what's right. He won't give up once he sets his mind on something.
On the flip side Lloyd's not exactly the brightest bulb, so anything where book knowledge is involved would likely be the death of him. And because he's brash in nature, he will still often act first before thinking, which at times can cause more harm than good.
